Recovery is a balancing act…

Think in terms of balance scales…

Before finding balance, and homeostasis, between each of the scales sides, the scale has to go down on one side, then the other side falls way down and it keeps swaying back and forth until it starts teetering down and eventually balancing out…

This is how the rebalancing and healing of the metabolism as well as all the other imbalance created from malnutrition will work, that is caused from overexertion, and having a hyperaware/obsessive/strict mindset…

The metabolism is not immediately going to ramp up and balance out, nor will the extreme hunger/binging, edema, fearful thoughts around food, body shaming, or any other obsessive behaviors.

And if it does balance out for you promptly, then you’re one lucky motherfucker and more power to you!

But typically, it’s going to take some ups and downs… And this requires patience and trust on your part.

Don’t give up when the going gets tough! You’re stronger than that, whether you’d like to believe it or not. We aren’t given anything we can’t handle at this moment in our lives.
